The country of the mice story

There was once a king who ruled a large country in which there lived a great number of mice. One year there was not enough rice. The mice were very hungry. The king of the mice put on his best clothes and went to see the king of the country.
“Good morning, Mr. Mouse.” Said the king. “What can I do for you?”
“O king, we do not have enough rice. We would like to borrow some from you. If you can lend us what we need, we shall repay you next year.”
“How much do you want?”
“About one hundred bags,” answered the mouse.
“How can you carrying it away?”
“Your majesty, we shall find a way.”
The king ordered one hundred bags of rice to be given to the mice. The mice bit through the bags. They carried away the rice in their mouths. When the king looked the next morning. He was surprised to find the rice had disappeared.
The next year. The king of the mice repaid the king. The king was very pleased that he had kept his promise.
Not long afterwards, the king went to war with a neighbouring country. His army was not very strong. It lost every battle. The army of the other country reached the opposite side of the river. They were ready to attack the capital.
“Who can help me?” asked the king. He sent for the king of the mice.
The mouse asked the king to place thousands of stick. Each one foot long, by the side of the river.
The next night, all the mice used these sticks as boats to carry them across the river. The soldiers of other country were fast asleep when the mice quietly entered their camp. Some of them threw the soldier’s swords and guns into the river. Other ate their food. Yet others bit their toes. The soldier woke up. They did not know what had happened. They could not find their swords and guns and they thought they had been attacked by the king’s soldier. They ran away as fast as they could.
The king quickly asked the king of the mice to come to see him.
“Mr. mouse, you have saved my country,” he said. “Please tell me what you would like in return.”
The mouse replied. “O King, we only want to live in peace. Please send away all the cats from your country.”
The king did as he was asked. He gave orders for all the cats to leave immediately.
The king of the mice thanked the king. “cats are our worst enemy,” he said. “We can now live very happily for the rest of our lives.”

Narrative Text The Guard's Reward Story



The guard's rewards story
There was once a king in Tibet who liked to eat fish. One year, there was a very bad drought. The rivers became dry and fish became scarcer and scarcer.
The king felt very hungry as he did not like to eat any other kind of food. He called his ministers to see him.
“anyone who brings fish to the palace can ask for anything
he likes as a reward,” he told them.
Not long afterward, a man brought to the palace some salted fish which he had obtained from India.
He was stopped at the palace gate by the guard.
“Where are you going? Stop! What are you carrying?
“I…..I…. I’ve brought some fish for the king.”
“Fish! Where did you get it?”
“I brought it back from a recent visit to India.”
“All right. Leave it with me. I shall pass it on to his majesty.” The guard thought. “I’ll get a big reward from the king for this.”
“No” said the man. “I want to give it to the king myself.”
The guard tried to persuade him to leave the fish with him but the man refused.
“you’ll have to agree to give half the reward you get from the king.” He said. “Otherwise. I shan’t let you in.”
“yes. I agree. By the way sir,” asked the man. “what is your name?”
“Everyone calls me the ‘one-eyed Ox’,” answered the guard.
The king was very pleased to have some fish again.
“What would you like as a reward?” he asked the man.
“I would like to be caned a thousand times, your majesty,” the man answered.
“that’s very strange reward,” the king said. “Are you sure that is what you want?”
“Yes, your majesty.”
The king thought to himself, “He must be a fool! Why does he want to be caned?”
So he sent for his servants to cane the man. “Beat him lightly,” he ordered. “Don’t hurt him. He brought me some fish.”
When he had been caned five hundred times. The man stood up and said, “Enough. I don’t want any more.”
Everyone was very surprised. “who should be given the rest, then?” they asked. The man told the king what had happened. “Please give the guard the rest. This is what I’ve arrange with him.”
The king was very angry and ordered One-eyed Ox to be brought in.
By this time, One-eyed Ox was dreaming of what he was going to do with his half of the reward. He thought at least it would be money or other precious things. When he saw how angry the king looked, he was frightened.
“Cane his as hard as you can,” the king ordered his servants. “This is half of the reward.”
One-eyed Ox could hardly walk after being caned. However, he had to thank the king for giving him half the reward. “Thank you, Your Majesty,” he said. “You are really too kind. This is too big a reward for me.”
He never tried to obtain a reward again from anyone who came to see the king

The Tale of Silver Raven

In the middle century of England, there were two neighboring big kingdoms called Adyss and Chesburg. King Tarrant, the king of Chesburg was a very cruel king and a merciless usurper who attacked many kingdoms and lead them with no kindness. King Bryar, the leader of Kingdom Adyss was completely opposite to King Tarrant. He treated people benevolently and never rule the kingdom arbitrarily.

King Tarrant wanted to lead Adyss under his kingdom’s flag. He attacked Adyss with a thousand knights and a hundred war materials unexpectedly. King Bryar couldn’t do too much thing. He ordered his knights to fight back and eventually ordered his son, Prince Owen to save himself.

“My son, you must go. Save yourself, the guards will lead you to the Grumsen forest. Now go,” he ordered.
“No, father. I will go fight them with you and the other knights!”
“You can’t, Prince Owen!”

“I will become a king when I’m eighteen next month!” Prince Owen said, his voice was a little louder than before.
“You must go! This is an order! You are not allowed to defy your father’s command!”

Unable to argue, Prince Owen obeyed his father’s order. He ran as fast as possible to the castle’s gate and entered the cart quickly with couples of sentries to guard him.

At the night, Prince Owen and his guards stayed in the forest. Prince Owen was about to sleep when he heard a few metal clinging and a shout.

“Run Prince Owen! Run Your Majesty!” it was one of his sentries screaming. Pushing a comforter off his body, Prince Owen immediately got up from his bunk and ran into the forest. The Chesburg’s knights were chasing him. Finally Prince Owen got tired; he fell to the ground on his knees. “Oh, please… somebody please save me…”

Then he saw a maiden who strangely had a pair of wings on her back and glow around her stood right in front of him. She didn’t stand on the ground, she flew. Her gown was white and there was a wand wrapped by her slim fingers of her right hand. She smiled to Prince Owen.

With no word, she moved her wand and Prince Owen was surrounded by white glow. He changed into a beautiful raven which strangely had silver feathers.

Then the fairy gone in the dark.
The next day, there was a woodman who wandered in Grumsen forest, looking for some trees to cut. His eyes caught something shiny on a
tree.

“A silver raven!” he exclaimed. The raven was perched on a tree’s branch, eating a dead squirrel. When it heard a voice, it immediately flew to the woodman’s shoulder.

“Whoa! Looks like you’re not as feral as usual ravens. Well, I’ll keep you, then. Oh, and by the way, I’m Gordon.” He chuckled, stroked the raven’s feather and walked back to his hut.

After putting the raven in his hut, Gordon wandered back to the forest. He cut a few trees and carried them back to his hut to cut them into smaller pieces. He finished his workings at noon. When he was going to cut the woods, he found the woods he collected yesterday were nicely carved.

“Who was kindly did this?” he asked himself quizzically. He shrugged, and then brought the carved woods to a carpenter’s workshop to sell them.

Every day after that strange day the same thing happened. Gordon still questioned it.

One day, he ate biscuits and gravy as lunch, and the raven ate a few pieces of pork Gordon gave as usual. “I must go find out what is the actually happening here,” he thought

The next day, Gordon pretended to went to the forest. He sneaked to take a peek through his hut’s window to see who was kindly did his tiring job. And he didn’t need to wait so long to know it. The raven he kept had white glow around it and it changed into a very handsome tall muscular brunette man who dressed in nice clothes. Gordon’s mouth gapped in shock. The brunette man who formerly a raven shook his head in discomfort and a few silver feathers fell down of his head. Then the man walked out of Gordon’s hut towards the backyard.
Gordon watched as the mysterious man took an axe and started cutting the woods he collected yesterday. He couldn’t believe the sight.
He encourage himself to walk to the brunette and convince himself the brunette wasn’t an enemy.

“Who are you?”

The brunette jerked in shock, he turned his head and stared at Gordon behind his beautiful bronze colored eyes. “I’m—I’m Owen.” Gordon frowned.

“Wait, I know you.” Gordon thought for a while, and then he remembered and looked at the brunette. His eyes went wide. “Prince Owen? Y—Your Majesty?”

Prince Owen bit his lip, nodded slowly as he putted back the axe he held. Gordon kneeled immediately to the brunette prince.
“Your Majesty, forgive my presumptions.”

“No, get up.” Gordon obeyed the soft order and Prince Owen smiled.
“Thank you to save my life. I might have died if you didn’t keep me.”

“Yes, you’re welcome, Your Majesty.” Prince Owen smiled warmly, took the axe and began to cut the woods again.

“No! Your Majesty, you don’t need to.”

“At least I need to help you after… you fed me. Let me do this.” Then Gordon let him.

“Pardon me Your Majesty. But how did you… morphed and ended up in the forest?”
Prince Owen stopped cutting. He looked at Gordon for a brief second.

“I’ll tell you. It’s a long story and I guess you won’t believe it.”
Then Prince Owen told Gordon everything, about the attack, the order of his father, the fairy, everything. Then he helped Gordon bringing the woods to the carpenter’s workshop. The carpenter was also esteemed him.

A few weeks passed. One day Gordon took Prince Owen to the market to buy some things. People in the market esteemed him. The news about Prince Owen’s existence in a village near the Grumsen forest widespread immediately.

Meanwhile, King Tarrant had killed in the battle and his son, Prince Brad took his father’s place. King Brad was a wise, kind, and benevolent king. He stopped the attack and made a truce with King Bryar. The battle had over.

King Bryar looking for his son all over the kingdom. Prince Owen still lived with Gordon and they became friends, although Gordon still called him Your Majesty, because he thought he supposed to.

Knowing King Bryar was looking for his son, the people of the village sent a messenger to the castle to inform the King about his son’s existence.

King Bryar picked up his son four days after he received the message. Prince Owen was so happy to see his father after a long month of their discord. He embraced his father tightly, saying how much he missed him.

Before they left, Prince Owen and his father thanked Gordon and the villagers for their kindness.













Narrative Text Doyan Nada



DOYAN NADA
Once, while Lombok island did not have a name yet, the island of Lombok is still a jungle full of hills and did not have inhabited by humans. The island is only inhabited by a genie named queen Dewi Anjani accompanied by a governor named Patih Songan. Dewi Anjani had many soldiers from the ginies and a pet bird
named Beberi. Beaked bird silver and steel nails are very sharp. Goddess
Anjani and his followers lived in the peak of Mount Rinjani is located on the island.
One day, coming home from traveling around the entire mainland
Lombok, Patih Songan come face to Dewi Anjani.
“Please, my lady! Let servants to deliver something, “said  Patih Songan while saluting.

“Hey, man! Get out of my sight, or I’ll make you to my victim! “Limandaru threatened.”

Finally, Doyan Nada married the daughter of Majapahit, shield going around marrying the daughter of Mataram, and SigarPenjalin married the daughter of Madura. After that, the three friends are each set up the island kingdom. Doyan Nada founded the Selaparang kingdom in his birthplace; shield muter founded the kingdom in Penjanggik, while SigarPenjalin founded the kingdom in Sembalun. They each lead the kingdom of the wise and prudent.

Ikun and Two Birds
Once, in a village in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, there is a family of farmers who had fourteen children. Seven men and seven women. The youngest son named Suri Ikun. He was a brave and helpful. In contrast to the sixth brother, but they are also timid spiteful. Heard the snorting wild boar they ran helter-skelter.
To meet the needs of a wife and fourteen children, the husband as head of the family of plant tubers and vegetables in her garden. Although the garden is large enough, the results are sometimes not able to provide for his family, because the plants are destroyed by a herd of wild boar.
One night, her husband took his wife and seven sons consulted to resolve the issue.

Because of its malice, he just gave Suri Ikun the pig’s head, which is certainly not much meat. So it went on, each time bringing a wild pig that catch, Suri Ikun always just got the head. However, Suri Ikun equally happy, because the sweat can be enjoyed by the whole family.
One afternoon, their father had just returned from gathering firewood in a forest that is located quite far away.
“My children! Will you help, Daddy! “
“What can we do for you, Dad?” Asked the elder curious.
“Grinding father left in the woods. Will you go pick it up? “Pleaded the father.
Finally, the elder brother was invited to the sixth went to the forest was dense. At the time reached the forest, it was dark. According to the story, the forest is inhabited by the ghost of the notorious jungle. Ikun Suri walk down the jungle to follow his brother was carrying a bow and arrow. “Hey, the Son of Man! Now you are living alone. No one can help you, because your brothers has left you. “
“Who are you? Tampakkanlah wujudmu! “Said Suri Ikun while preparing his bow and arrows.
“Ha … ha … ha …! berbahak voice laughed out loud.
“Behold, the Son of Man! We are a jungle ghost forest-dwellers, “said the voice.
Moments later, all of a sudden some big, faceless figures standing around him sinister. Suri Ikun just about to pull the dart, the ghosts were immediately arrested. However, they do not immediately eat, as he was too skinny.
“Let kurung first child of this man,” said the leader of that jungle ghost.
Suri finally Ikun were kept in a cave. Every day he fed on a regular basis in order to be fat. Fortunately there is a gap so that sunlight can shine into the cave. Of the gap he could see out.
One day, Suri Ikun saw two young birds in the cave that hunger gap. Hence pity, he also gave some of their food Ikun to the boys the bird.
“Rock On, that poor child is left behind parent birds,” Suri Ikun pity the child while feeding the birds.
So it went on, each saw the kids were starving birds, Suri Ikun continue distributing food to them. Several months later, the bird has grown to become bigger and stronger. Miraculously, the two birds that can talk like a human.
“Thank you sir for helping us,” said a bird.
“Please, sir! If we do not know, sir who and why kept in this cave? “Asked the other bird.
“I Ikun Suri, buddy!” Said Suri Ikun.
After that, Suri Ikun was told all the events that happened until he could be in the cave.

The next day, the ghosts came to deliver food to Ikun Suri. By the time they opened the door of the cave, with two birds with lightning speed directly attacked and clawed their entire body. Ikun Suri did not waste the opportunity. He immediately launched his arrows in the direction of these ghosts. So no doubt, the ghost was hurt and ran away to escape.
After that, the second bird flew Suri Ikun immediately bring to the top of a high hill. Once there, with his magical powers, the two birds are creating a magnificent palace for the Empress Ikun complete with bodyguards and her ladies-in-waiting. It was there for the next Suri Ikun live and live happily.
Meanwhile, far away in the village, family life suffers Ikun Suri. Since the departure of Suri Ikun entire crop devoured and destroyed his father’s herd of wild boar. Because, no one dared to expel his brother the pig herd from their garden.
